Fears & Phobias
When we are born, we have no phobias or fears, but as we progress through life, something may trigger a fear or phobia within us.
Phobias and fears are common - over 10% of people experience a simple phobia at some time. From elevators, spiders and birds, to heights, dentists and open spaces. There is nothing we can't develop anxiety or phobias about.
Hypnosis can provide an extremely effective cure for these problems as it provides the opposite of anxiety - deep relaxation - while teaching the mind a different way of responding to the feared object or situation.
Treatment
If you are experiencing a particular fear or phobia, Hypnotherapy can find the causal event and help you remove the fear associated with it.
The treatment is gentle, and does not force you to face your fear until you are ready. We aim only for the goals you set. The average treatment takes between two and four sessions, although it can take longer, and has been known to work in a single session.
We primarily use techniques based in the behavioural school of psychotherapy, but also employ techniques from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in addition to traditional Hypnotherapeutic methods.
